Nor-Cal Spring Fling
In July of 2017, Rene “Frenchy” experienced a spinal cord injury, leaving him paralyzed, while driving his semi truck to Oregon with a friend. Rene spent 3 months in the hospital in Oregon, then got transported back home to Red Bluff where he lives. He started therapy in Chico where he started to get better and gain strength, and was able to minimally feed himself.
Then in 2019, on the way home from therapy, he was rear ended at a stop light and that accident broke his neck and back. He had to go through a ton of surgeries and lost all progress that he had gained and ended up worse than before.
Now it’s 2025 and he can control his wheel chair joystick, but that’s about all as he requires 24/7 care.
